Colour a-Muse-ment

Graffiti on Girls was yesterday. Muse Graffiti stands for vision, courage, a spirit of experimentation, self-confidence, and respect for oneself and others. Muse Graffiti aims to create a modern and diverse graffiti scene. It provides a safe space for women, trans, and LGBTQIA+ individuals to develop their graffiti skills.

  • Why is there a need for Muse Graffiti?
Muse Graffiti strives for the proactive promotion of women, trans, and LGBTQIA+ individuals in the graffiti scene, as these groups remain significantly underrepresented. This stems from the fact that traditional perceptions of graffiti make it seem less appealing and safe for these minorities. Sexism, homophobia, and violence, although far less prevalent, can still occur today within this scene. However, graffiti is evolving, just like the gender and role perceptions that we've learned in society. They are changing alongside us, influenced by us.
  • Sustainability and Respect
Muse Graffiti represents sustainability and respect. It promotes a sustainable approach to materials and legal walls. Used cans are recycled, litter is picked up, existing painted walls are treated with respect, and the medium is learned with an awareness of its historical background.
  • Empowerment and Safety
Here is a place of tolerance and appreciation—for others and for oneself! Muse Graffiti demonstrates that there is room for all personalities in graffiti. Here, you don't have to prove anything to anyone; joy is the focus. Additionally, you'll receive preventive education about social, health, and legal issues related to graffiti. This way, you'll understand what you're doing, why you're doing it, and how to do it.
  • Networking
It's wonderful to share passions with like-minded individuals! Muse Graffiti aims to serve as a platform and meeting point for LGBTQIA+ and women, trans, and non-binary individuals interested in working with spray paint.
  • Time
Good things take time, and Muse Graffiti understands and embraces that! Without time constraints, one can work on personal goals here. Practice sheets and assignments are provided to ensure a sustainable learning process.
  • Hi! I am...
My name is Luisa Viggiano (she/her), and I've been actively painting with spray cans for about 3 years. I'm studying Visual Communication with a focus on 'Digital Spaces' for my Bachelor's degree at FHNW HGK. My native language is German, but I'm also fluent in English. I was born in 1999 and have always enjoyed being creative
  • My Style
I enjoy painting letters. For some time now, I've been writing the letter sequence 'AGES.' Often, I find myself in the Old School style, but I'm still in the process and have set a goal to become more experimental.
  • My experience
I've had the opportunity to teach various graffiti workshops, including exclusive workshops for women, trans, and non-binary individuals. Additionally, I've completed several commissioned painting projects, gaining significant hands-on experience. I also attended the preparatory course for design in Lucerne, interned at the Zug Art Museum, spent a year in art education, and now, I'm in the midst of my Visual Communication studies. My artistic education covers a wide range, from poetry slam and art history to painting, graphic design, animation, development, and typography—and I love every aspect of it!
  • Age
You can participate in the workshops from the age of 12 and up.
  • Flinta* and LGBTQIA+
This project actively promotes a diverse graffiti scene, providing a safe space for minorities who might find it challenging to carve out their place in traditional graffiti culture. This includes women, trans, and LGBTQIA+ individuals. It also welcomes those who genuinely explain their need for a safe space within the graffiti scene. The program doesn't fundamentally exclude all men and offers space for anyone seeking a modern, respectful, social, empathetic, and open graffiti culture.
  • Graffiti Level
Whether you've never held a spray can before or have already created several artworks, there's a place for you here. The workshops not only provide exercises and guidance but also offer individualized advice. Each session focuses on working toward your personal goals. You can determine the level of guidance you wish to receive from me.
